New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the nation on the occassion of Durga Ashtami.
"Durga Ashtami greetings to everyone. May the blessings of Maa Durga bring joy, peace in our society and remove all forms of injustice," PM Modi tweeted.
He also said that on the eighth day of Navratri, we pray to Maa Maha Gauri. "May her blessings further the spirit of happiness and peace," he added.
The nine-day long festival is dedicated to Goddess Durga. Each day, her nine different forms of are worshipped.
The festival will conclude on September 30 with the Dussehra celebrations.
