Dehradun: Tremor of mild intensity was felt in Chamoli district and adjoining areas of Uttarakhand after a 4-magnitude earthquake struck the region today evening.
A slight intensity quake measuring 4 on the Richter scale hit Chamoli and adjacent areas at 4.58 pm, MeT official said in Dehradun.
Epicentered at Chamoli district, it had an altitude of 30.5 degrees north and a longitude of 79.3 degrees east, they said.
It was a very mild quake with no report of any damage to life and property, officials said.
