New Delhi: The Election Commission Thursday said it has received the CD showing senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Jaswant Singh distributing money allegedly at a poll meeting in a Rajasthan village.
"Along with the report, the Election Commission has received the CD. The full commission will consider the issue on Monday," Deputy Election Commission J.P. Prakash told reporters here.
Jaswant Singh was shown by TV channels distributing Rs.100 currency notes to a woman in Barmer of Rajasthan, from where his son Manvendra Singh is contesting election to the Lok Sabha.
The Congress and other opposition parties said the clip exposed the cash-for-votes scam, while Jaswant Singh said he was helping out a poor Dalit woman who had approached him for assistance.
Following the video footage, the commission asked the state chief electoral officer for a report on the incident.
