Education Minister Smriti Irani Addresses the Media: Highlights

New Delhi: Education minister Smriti Irani addressed the media.

Here are the highlights of her speech:

• We have been successful in providing toilets to all government schools.
• This has been possible because of the assistance given by state governments.
• Sub-committee constituted to re-engage out of school students.
• School and higher education reforms will be monitored by a committee.
• New education policy consultations have begun in some states.
• By November, state and the Centre representatives will discuss the first draft of New Education Policy. It will be ready by December.
• This was my first meeting as the chairperson.
• I have received a lot of cooperation from the states.
