Jammu: Even as digging at the international border in the Samba sector of Jammu is going on for three days now, the Border Security Force (BSF) have still not been able to find out the opening of the tunnel running between India and Pakistan.

The tunnel, dug at a depth of 25 feet, was recently detected after an area caved in due to rains near a BSF outpost. It has got ventilation pipes and is several hundred metres long. It is suspected to be used for infiltration.

The BSF is now approaching geological experts to find the exact nature and methodology employed for its construction.

"As you heard, some portions of the land in Chajjhwal village started caving in because of the rains. In one such caving in, we noted that there was a tunnel going towards Pakistan. We are digging further to determine where it originates and where it ends. We are in touch with the experts, the geological department and the army to assist with the work," said S K Mishra, Inspector General, BSF, Jammu.
