Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray
Mumbai:
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray addressed the media today about the party's strained ties with former ally BJP in Maharashtra.
Here are the highlights:- Eknath Shinde will be the leader of Shiv Sena'slegislature party in Maharashtra Assembly.
- Whatever will be done, will be done for the best of Maharashtra.
- We will work with or without power.
- Even today, the Shiv Sena is not in favour of parting ways with the BJP.
- If the insult of the party continues, they can't do anything and expect support.
- We can't support them if they go with people who speak of 'saffron terror'.
- BJP must make it clear whether or not they are going to take NCP's support.
- We won't be part of any government where Shiv Sena is not given its due.
- It is unfortunate, I remember that Ataj Bihari Vajpayee's 13-day government was brought down by Sharad Pawar and they want to go with the NCP.
- Will not bow down to pressure, extend unsolicited support to BJP (in Maharashtra).
- If I was after power, I would have had Anil Desai inducted into Modi's Cabinet.
- Chose not have Desai inducted at the Centre due to the uncertainty at the state level.
