Elderly, physically challenged vote in J&K

Munshi Ram (104) was among scores of enthusiatic elderly voters who lined up at polling stations in Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency, where polling was held in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Munshi Ram cast his vote at Bowani in Nowshera assembly segment while 95-year-old Kashmira Kour voted at a polling station about 50 meters away from the international border in Suchetgarh Assembly segment.

Krishno Devi (94) was among those who voted at Gho-Manashan polling booth in Marh assembly segment.

Surjeet Singh and Bittu Kumar, both physically challenged, were among the first to cast their votes at Patyari polling station in Chak Avtara village and Khour polling station of Chhamb assembly segment respectively.

Nisha Devi (26) cast her vote for the first time at polling station located in a Government Middle school in R S Pura assembly segment, while another first time voter 24-year-old Ghar Singh queued up at a polling station located in a Government Higher Secondary School in Akhnoor assembly segment.
