New Delhi: Lok Sabha witnessed some light moments today during Question Hour when there was a power failure while Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde was answering a query related to his ministry, prompting members to take dig at the government.
As soon as Mr Shinde rose to reply to a question on Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPPs) there was a power cut. The automatic back-up supply was switched on immediately.
However, opposition members did not let go of the opportunity and shouted "power, power".
Even Shinde could not hold back his laughter.
Speaker Meira Kumar was heard saying, "It (power) is back, it has been restored."
Shinde went ahead and answered the question raised by an opposition member on UMPPs.
But before he took his seat, Shinde remarked, "Sometimes I have to prove I am the Power Minister. That is why this is happening."
