New Delhi: In a new twist in the Professor Sabharwal case, his son Himanshu's employee Parminder Singh was stabbed to death in Delhi University north campus on Thursday night.
Himanshu Sabharwal and his employee were apparently putting up posters in the night for a candle light vigil at India Gate on Saturday, after which Parminder was stopped when he was leaving and stabbed to death.
Himanshu's lawyer says they suspect the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
The Delhi Police is recording Himanshu's statement.
Earlier in July, all six ABVP members accused of beating Professor Sabharwal to death in Ujjain, were acquitted.
The six activists of ABVP - Vimal Tomar, Pankaj Mishra, Vimal Rajoria, Shashiranjan Akela, Hemant Dubey and Sudhir Yadav - were facing murder charges under various sections of Indian Penal Code.
They were accused of allegedly beating to death political science lecturer Prof Sabharwal on August 26, 2006 in Madhav College. The trials were conducted in Ujjain and later shifted to a special court here as per a Supreme Court direction.
The case was then transferred to Maharashtra on a petition filed by Himanshu.
