A terrorist has been shot dead by security forces in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. The operation is taking place at Chadoora area.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Bugam area of Budgam district in central Kashmir this morning following information about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said.
"The encounter process is underway and one terrorist has been killed during the cross firing. The operation will continue for a while as an exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces is still going on," Sub Inspector, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Vinay Kumar was quoted as saying by ANI.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired upon them.
