Encounter in J&K: Lashkar commander killed

Handwara: A Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, Hanzla, has been killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Handwara district of north Kashmir.

The encounter started last evening when security agencies received a tip off about Hanzla's presence in the area. The offensive between the militants and forces was stopped for the night, but early this morning a final assault was launched.

The premises where Hanzla was holed up has been completely gutted down.
