Encounter in Sopore; five militants killed

Sopore (Jammu and Kashmir): Five militants have been killed in an encounter launched by the security forces in Sopore, north Kashmir. The operation launched by the Police and the Army started last night and is still underway.

The joint operation in the area was reportedly started after receiving a tip-off about presence of militants in Saidpora neighbourhood.

"Yesterday night, we got information about presence of some militants here in Sopore. After that, the Army and police launched an operation here, " said Superintendent of Police, Imtiaz Hussain.
