Jaipur: In a joint operation, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh detained an ex-armyman for his alleged "spying and anti-national activities" in Pokharan on Sunday.
Patwari Gordhan Singh, ex-army jawan, was detained in a joint operation in Pokharan, Rajasthan's ATS and SOG Additional Director General of Police Alok Tripathi told PTI.
Singh was detained and is being interrogated by anti-terror unit of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and state intelligence agency, Mr Tripathi said.
Since Pokharan was very sensitive area in view of nuclear explosion I and II, the ex-army jawan was detained for his suspicious role and alleged spying activities under "Official Secrets Act", Mr Tripathi said.
Some important links were detected from the detained Patwari, he added.
