Meerut:
An ex-model and her friend have been sentenced to life in prison by a district court here which held them guilty of murdering the former's parents in 2008.
The court of district judge Ramkishan Gautam also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them.
Mr Gautam had on May 15 held the victims' daughter, Priyanka Singh, a former model, and her friend Anju guilty of stabbing the couple to death.
According to district public prosecutor Anil Tomar, retired junior engineer Prem Veer Singh (65) and his wife Santosh Singh (62), of Prem Prayag Colony here, were stabbed to death on November 11, 2008.
On November 17, 2008, police arrested the victims' daughter and her friend and, during questioning, Priyanka confessed to the murder of her parents over some property dispute and alleged mistreatment
