Bhopal:
The on-going strike by non-teaching staff of universities in Madhya Pradesh has forced the administration to postpone all the remaining semester examinations starting from December 10, except the LLB for which papers were already sent to the centres.
The examinations were postponed as question papers did not reach the test centres due to the strike.
Fresh time table for the exams that have been postponed would be announced only after the strike ends, university sources said.
The strike will continue till our demands including pension and regularisation are not accepted, said Avinash Burbure, the general secretary of Madhya Pradesh University (non-teaching) Employees Federation, which is spearheading the strike.
The talks with the government had earlier failed and we would not accept a committee on this (from the government) to monitor the demands, Avinash said.
The striking employees have got full support from Barkatullah University Teachers Association (BUTA)and MP University Service Officers' Association (MPUSOA).
The university employees went on an indefinite strike on December 3 demanding implementation of their 12-point demands related to pension, promotion and regularisation.
