The BJP is likely to win Uttar Pradesh and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may bag most seats in Punjab, a poll of exit polls indicated today after the end of voting in five states. It predicted a hung house in both Goa and Uttarakhand and BJP emerging as the largest party in Manipur. The seventh and final phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh concluded today and with this the assembly elections in the five states.
A poll of exit polls predict a BJP win in Uttar Pradesh with 242 seats. It showed Samajwadi Party winning 143 seats.
In Punjab, the poll of polls showed the Aam Aadmi Party winning the most seats. It predicted 63 seats for the AAP and 28 seats for the Congress.
For Uttarakhand, a poll of polls has predicted has predicted a close contest between the BJP and Congress with 35 and 32 seats respectively. Uttarakhand has 70 seats.
A poll of exit polls indicates that both the BJP and the Congress will end up with 16 seats in Goa each leading the state for another hung assembly. Goa has a 40-member house.
In Manipur, the BJP is set to emerge as the largest party with 30 seats, predicts a poll of exit polls. Manipur voted in two phases - on February 27 and March 3 - as the elections were held for the 60-member state assembly.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will come back with a full majority in the state.
He added that the Goa BJP government's priority is to complete the infrastructure projects of the double engine government. "We will fulfil the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa' under this mission", said Mr Sawant.
"The only firm conclusion that we can draw from exit polls so far is about Punjab. Clearly it's an AAP wave with a thumping majority," said Yogendra Yadav.

"All exit polls are showing that the BJP will form the govt with majority. Some are showing 45 seats, some 47 seats but I believe there will be more seats when the final result is out. People of Uttarakhand have shown faith in us and will form the government," said Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
"The BJP will get 18-22 seats in Goa and will form the government. Our priority is to complete infrastructure projects of our double engine government. As per the exit polls also, the BJP will return to power in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur and will have good performance in Punjab," said Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
