Ahead of AAP meet, Yogendra Yadav said he was hoping for 'good news'
Hours before the Aam Aadmi Party's meeting to decide on action against him, Yogendra Yadav said he wouldn't "break the party or quit."
Mr Yadav and Prashant Bhushan, founder members of AAP, are likely to be removed from AAP's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) in the meeting that party chief Arvind Kejriwal has decided to skip. Both leaders have openly increased Mr Kejriwal and the party.
"If I have done something wrong, then disciplinary action should be taken," Mr Yadav said.
"Na Todenge, na chhodenge. Sudhrenge aur sudharenge (We won't break the party or quit. We will improve ourselves and others)," he declared.
The AAP internal battle has played out in a series of letters that have been leaked. In a joint letter, Mr Yadav and Mr Bhushan expressed concern about the party's functioning.
AAP leaders have accused Mr Yadav and Mr Bhushan of conspiring to unseat Mr Kejriwal as convenor of the 21-member National Executive.
20 members - Mr Kejriwal will be away - of the executive will debate and vote on Mr Yadav and Mr Bhushan. Sources say their exit from the key party panel is almost certain.
The noted psephologist asserted that it was his idea to restructure PAC in the first place. "There may be questions on whether we should be a part of it, but on one thing there is no question - Arvind should stay as national convenor."
Prashant Bhushan had yesterday old NDTV that "there is a great danger" of AAP becoming a one-man show.
"We didn't form the party to make it like any other political party where there is a high command and one person calls the shots," he said. He also criticized Mr Kejriwal for "compromising on the party's core ideology" for the sake of electoral politics.
