Mumbai: The Shiv Sena, an ally of the BJP government in Maharashtra, raked up several issues to attack the Modi government as it completed two years in power today.
Through an editorial in party's mouthpiece 'Saamana', the Shiv Sena said the BJP government at the Centre has failed to curb inflation and cross border terrorism in the last two years. It criticised the various schemes introduced by the government saying they did not reach the people.
As the Narendra Modi government completed two years in office, ally Shiv Sena today hit out at the BJP-led dispensation over a host of issues, alleging it failed to rein in and the schemes started during this period did not reach people.
"Modi government started one scheme after the other in two years. But people barely know of any (schemes). The previous government was running the same schemes with different names which eventually got embroiled in corruption," the editorial read.
The Sena also took a dig at PM Modi for his frequent foreign trips, who visited Iran last week and is scheduled to address the joint session of the US Congress in Washington next month.
"Modi first has to decide whether his residence is inside or outside the country," it said.
The party said the BJP government had "failed" to arrest inflation or end distress in farm sector.
The Sena, which has been critical of India's dialogue with Pakistan, said the "terrorist activities by Pakistanis in Kashmir have not stopped", adding, "Our jawans are dying fighting Naxalites and terrorists and we are still talking with the neighbouring country."
