New Delhi: As more and more fake pilots are arrested, the body that is meant to be the country's aviation watchdog the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is itself under a cloud.
Late on Tuesday night two more clerks of the country's top aviation body, DGCA, were held in Delhi.
The two allegedly took Rs 50,000 to push the pilots' files for licence approvals.
Both are involved in the current cases where marksheets were forged to get licences
The arrest of the two DGCA officials comes less than a month after the Crime Branch of the Delhi police arrested Pradeep Kumar, a top DGCA official, for allegedly arranging pilots' licences through forged documents.
Kumar was Asst Director, Licencing, for 2 years. He allegedly took 25,000 rupees for each file he cleared. In January, he was transferred from this post after his role came under suspicion.
In the wake of the fake pilot scare, licences of 3,000 to 4,000 pilots are being scrutinised by the DGCA.
