Pune:
A special court here has sentenced the fake stamp paper scam accused Abdul Karim Telgi to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 9 lakh in a case registered with Nashik police in 2000.
Telgi, who is facing 47 cases in connection with the scam, pleaded guilty in the Nashik case through video-conferencing on Friday from Bangalore where he is lodged in a jail, his lawyer said today.
The kingpin of the multi-crore scam is already undergoing a 13 years RI after his conviction in 2007 in a case filed by Pune police.
The court had also sentenced Telgi to ten-year RI on June 13 in a case filed against him by Mulund police in Mumbai in 2005.
