Bangalore:

It was a double triumph for the Gowda family in Karnataka as the father-son combine won their seats, while Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's son made his father proud, bagging the giant killer tag in the Lok Sabha polls.

Hassan returned its 'son of the soil' JDS supremo Deve Gowda, while in Bangalore Rural, Gowda's son Kumaraswamy avenged his father's humiliating defeat in 2004 by defeating sitting Congress MP Tejaswini Gowda of erstwhile Kanakapura constituency and BJP's C P Yogeshwar.

It was also celebration time in the Yeddyurappa household with B Y Raghavendra, son of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa following his father's footsteps and inflicting a blow on four-time MP and seven time MLA, S Bangarappa of Congress in Shimoga. Yeddyurappa had defeated Bangarappa in the 2008 assembly polls in Shikaripura.

In Bellary, J Shanthi, sister of BJP minister Sreeramulu ensured the family's victory in the mining belt.

Shivakumar, son of PWD minister C M Udasi also had lady luck on his side when he romped home victorious from Haveri.

Ramesh Katti, brother of BJP minister Umesh Katti also passed the electoral test from Chikkodi.

The only family where lady luck failed to smile was former minister Gurudappa Nagamarhalli, who lost in Bidar. His son Suryakanth had lost the bye-polls in Bidar.
