Family of Indian killed in Nigeria attacks shocked

New Delhi: A 23-year-old Indian national, Kewal Rajput, was killed in the coordinated bombings and gun attacks in Nigeria by an Islamic sect that has left more than 180 people dead. As the news reached his family that lives in the Dahod district of Gujarat, they didn't know how to react.

Ten months back Mr Rajput had gone to Nigeria to work in a chemical company. He was filling in for the company's driver when he was caught in one of the blasts. His family is now appealing to the government to help get his body back.

Six other Indian nationals including two children, belonging to two families, have been injured from falling shrapnel and debris. They are currently being treated in a hospital.

The attacks were carried out by radical group Boko Haram in North Nigeria's largest city Kano.
