Jammu: National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah will campaign for the Congress in the state and outside, party sources said Saturday.
Abdullah has been drafted as a star campaigner by the Congress during the Lok Sabha election for states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, party sources said.
"His campaign will give a big boost to the Congress," a National Conference leader said.
Abdullah's son and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has asked his party workers to work for the success of Congress candidates in the two Lok Sabha seats of Jammu region and the lone seat in Ladakh. The National Conference is contesting three seats in the Kashmir Valley.
The National Conference and the Congress jointly rule Jammu and Kashmir.
