Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah today said the state is at the crossroads of its history as divisive forces are out to vitiate communal harmony.
The National Conference (NC) patron said this while visiting the Raghunath Temple in Jammu to greet Hindus at the beginning of the Navratra festivities.
Later, addressing party functionaries at the party headquarters in the city, he disapproved hurting the religious sentiments of any community. "Great religion of Islam vehemently disapproves of hurting the religious sentiments of others," Mr Abdullah said.
Warning hate mongers of the dangerous consequences of their campaign, Mr Abdullah said Jammu and Kashmir was at the crossroads of its history in the wake of communal frenzy being encouraged by divisive forces.
"Provocative acts could jeopardise peace across the country and in the state," he said.
