Kolkata: Ahead of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to Kolkata next week, a team of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) today reviewed the security at the state secretariat Writers' Building where she is expected to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The FBI team had on May 1 also reviewed the security in various establishmentsin Kolkata including the Writers' Building and the Raj Bhavan.
"The drill took place in anticipation of possible visit by Clinton to those places", official sources said.
Senior officials of the state and central intelligence were also present during the drill by the FBI team.
Officials in the state secretariat and CMO helped the FBI team with details of the plan of the Writers' Building and its existing security maintained by the state government.
US Ambassador to India Nancy Powell, accompanied by US Consul General Dean Thompson, had called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the state secretariat in Kolkata on April 30. Ms Powell had also met the Governor M K Narayanan.
