New Delhi: The government today called a meeting of political parties from Andhra Pradesh on December 28 to discuss Telangana statehood. This appears to be a move to placate the Congress's dissenting MPs from Telangana and ensure their support when Parliament votes on the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail issue.
The meeting has been called by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. The sulking Congress MPs from Telangana welcomed the all-party meeting and have agreed to participate in the FDI vote, the Press Trust of India reported.
