Munger: The residents of 15 villages have boycotted the polio vaccination to protest alleged lack of proper nutrition and other facilities to the children by the state-run Anganwadi Centres in Munger district, official sources said.
Parents did not allow the health workers to vaccinate their wards during the ongoing polio vaccination campaign to protest against alleged indifferent attitude of the Anganwadi workers to the children enrolled there for pre-primary education, the sources said.
The villagers further alleged that enrollment of some students had been cancelled after their parents demanded nutritional food and uniform for their wards, they said.
Efforts were being made talk the agitating villagers into participating in the vaccination campaign as their grievances would be taken care of by the local administration, the sources added.
