FIR against BSP MLA for killing poll candidate's husband

Lucknow: An FIR was registered against nine persons, including a BSP MLA, in Faizabad district for allegedly abducting and killing husband of a panchayat poll candidate, police said on Tuesday.

In a related incident, locals went on a rampage and torched three vehicles in Sultanpur area this morning alleging involvement of BSP MLA from Isauli Chandrabhadra Singh alias Sonu Singh and his aides in the abduction and murder case, they said.

"An FIR has been registered against BSP MLA from Isauli Chandrabhadra Singh alias Sonu Singh and eight others on charges of abduction and murder," Senior Superintendent of Police Faizabad R K S Rathore told PTI.

Ram Kumar Yadav, a revenue department official, posted in Bikapur in Faizabad district, went missing from his place of posting on Sunday last and his body was recovered near Simrauna village in Sultanpur district on Tuesday, police said.

Yadav's wife Kamla Devi is contesting panchayat elections for the post of village head from Majhwara in Sultanpur.

On a complaint lodged by Yadav's kin, an FIR has been lodged against the MLA, his brother Monu Singh and seven others, Rathore said.
