In a reflection of the continued anger against Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Vastanvi, the controversial head of the Darul Uloom in Deoband, a scuffle broke out today between supporters of Vastanvi and Jamiat-e-Ulema-i-Hind.
One of the supporters of Jamiat chief Arshad Madani fired some shots in the air during the group's meeting.
The incident occured after Madani's supporters said something against Vastanvi.
Vastanvi, the MBA chief of one of Islam's most influential schools took over just a few days ago, but his controversial comments on Narendra Modi got him into trouble. He had allegedly praised the Gujarat Chief Minister prompting calls for his resignation.
