Lucknow: At least five persons are feared to have drowned after a boat in which they were crossing Saryu River in Bahraich capsized, police said today.
The incident took place in Takia Ghat in Nanpara area of Bahraich district last night when the boat carrying 15 persons capsized, SHO Nanpara Manoj Singh told PTI over phone.
While 10 persons swam to safety, five were still missing and teams of PAC and SSB besides locals are trying to trace them.
The incident took place when villagers were returning after attending the Kartik Purnmia mela.
