Jalpaiguri: Five persons were killed and six others injured when a bomb tied to a bi-cycle exploded this evening a little distance from St Paul's School near Jalpaiguri town in West Bengal.
DSP (Crime) Prabhat Chakraborty confirmed the deaths and injury in the bomb explosion at Bajrapara locality, but could not yet say if it was a terrorist-linked attack.
Dr Susanta Ray at the Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital where the injured have been admitted said some of them were in a critical condition.
Mr Chakraborty said that a police inquiry into the bomb blast has been started.
