Banka: Five persons including a woman were today killed after being struck by lightning during heavy downpour at different places in Banka district of Bihar.
Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Banka, Shashi Shankar said three persons - Ravindra Yadav (40), Sharif Ansari (42) and Savita Devi (35) died at Sujapur, Hechla and Kusiari villages, respectively, under Baunsi police station area.
The SDPO said two others were identified as Mithilesh Thakur (40) and Sibu Paswan (28) - hailing from Belhar and Kharhara villages.
The lightning struck when the deceased were engaged in work. All the bodies were charred.
