New Delhi: With his role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots coming to the centrestage once again following the shoe hurling incident, Congress leader Jagdish Tytler on Tuesday decided to steer clear from the issue, saying for him the matter was "closed".
"For me the case is closed...You newspaper people will have to decide what you must do with your colleague," Tytler said while reacting to the incident of a Sikh journalist hurling a shoe at Home Minister P Chidambaram at a press conference.
The journalist was protesting the CBI's clean chit to Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
Congress on Tuesday indicated it was open to review the candidatures of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, who were facing allegations of involvement in the riots.
"Congress is a large party and it takes considered decisions at appropriate time. Let us see what solutions emerge in the future," party spokesman Ashwini Kumar said when asked whether the party would withdraw nominations to Tytler and Sajjan Kumar.
