Four children drowned in a pond on Wednesday when they slipped into deep water while taking bath in the Jasol town in Barmer district, police said.
The deceased were identified as Mahendra Prajapat (14), Hitesh (14), Suraj Prajapat (12) and Hanuman Prajapat (13), they said.
They had gone to take bath while returning home from school, an official said.
"They slipped into deep water and eventually drowned. They had gone to take bath while returning home," SHO Balotara police station Bhanwar Lal Sirvi said.
He said by the time villagers reached the spot, the four children had drowned. The bodies were fished out and postmortem done at a government hospital in Balotara, he added.
