Srinagar: Several people were injured in fresh clashes that broke out in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag today after security forces stopped people from holding a rally amid curfew restrictions.
The sight of gun-toting terrorists at public rallies have become the fresh cause of concern in Kashmir Valley, which had been witnessing unrest for almost a month, since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani on July 8.
Security forces have said that they are taking effective measures to prevent such rallies.
Last week, armed terrorists reportedly addressed three rallies in Anantnag, Kulgam and Pulwama districts.
More than 50 people have died in clashes with security forces and over 3,000 have been injured over the last four weeks.
Curfew will continue in Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Kupwara towns while restrictions will remain in force in Srinagar city, Badgam, Sopore, Bandipora and Baramulla towns, a senior police official told IANS.
