The Group of Ministers (GoM) on Bhopal is likely to take a fresh look at the compensation given to the victims of the gas tragedy, sources tell NDTV. The money could come from budgetary support.

In another development a complaint has been filed in a Bhopal court against former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Arjun Singh for releasing the Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson soon after the 1984 gas tragedy. A separate complaint has also been filed against the then Bhopal Collector Moti Singh.

The Bhopal Superintendent of Police at the time Swaraj Puri is also named in the complaint. On Tuesday, he was removed from his current post in the Narmada Valley Development Authority. He had a minister of state status. He was removed after BJP leaders protested over the position given to him even after he allegedly helped Warren Anderson flee.
