Vijayawada:
Even as Kurnool is slowly struggling to get back to normal, a fresh flood warning has been issued for Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
The warning has been issued due to forecast of heavy rains in Maharashtra and Karnataka in the next 24 hours.
There is a possibility of increase in water inflows to Prakasam barrage in Vijayawada. People in low-lying areas are being asked to move back again into relief camps.
The city was among the worst affected areas in the flood-hit sate. Even now, heaps of garbage are piled up and both sides of the road in most areas. With garbage still not cleared, fear of epidemic remains.
Many schools have extended the holidays by another week.
