G20 Summit is scheduled to take place on September 9 and 10.
Ahead of the G20 Summit, the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted the “possibility of very light rain” on September 9 and 10. The global event is scheduled to take place at Pragati Maidan's Bharat Mandapam.
As per the latest statement by IMD, the weather condition in the national capital is likely to remain pleasant with a cloudy sky, leading to a drop in the temperature in the next 2-3 days.
The country's weather department predicted “a spell of drizzle or very light rain” from tomorrow. It further informed that on September 8, wind speed will remain at 5 to 10 kmph, while the maximum humidity the Delhiites can face is 85-95 per cent.
The notification further informed that similar weather conditions will be witnessed on September 9 and 10, with only the Southeasterly wind speed to dwindle at 3 to 5 kmph.
If it lightly rains on Saturday, the temperature will witness a subtle drop on Sunday. While the maximum temperature on September 9 is likely to remain 35 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius, it may stand at 34 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius on September 10.
The multinational event will kick-start on September 9 in New Delhi. Ahead of the event, special restrictions have been put in place for the smooth traffic movement of the delegates.
In addition, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory on traffic restrictions applicable to the movement of commercial vehicles, city buses, taxis, and autos in certain pockets of the national capital.
The official statement revealed that during the restriction hours, no auto rickshaws or taxis will be allowed to operate or enter the New Delhi District from 5 AM on September 9 until 11:59 PM on September 10.
However, these restrictions won't apply to the bonafide residents, tourists with valid hotel bookings, or those travelling to the railway station and airport.
