Nagpur:
Nagpur is celebrating the wedding of BJP president Nitin Gadkari's son, who got married this morning.
His 26-year-old son, Nikhil, has married 22-year-old Rutuja Pathak at the Rajwada Palace Hotel near Gandhi Sagar Lake. Rutuja is the daughter of a bank officer. Gadkari and his wife, Kanchan, received the 2000 guests who gathered to congratulate the couple. BJP senior leader Venkaiah Naidu was among those spotted at the venue.
The four-day wedding celebrations started on Wednesday evening with a pre-wedding function - a 'seemaan poojan' where family members of the bride and the groom are formally introduced to each other.
A reception tomorrow is expected to draw VIPs from the worlds of politics, business and entertainment. Some reports suggest 15,000 guests will attend the function at the Vidarbha Cricket Association, on the outskirts of Nagpur.
Some reports suggest 20 chartered flights will land in the city.
