Preparations are on in full swing for the wedding of BJP President Nitin Gadkari's son Nikhil. The wedding will take place on Thursday and two receptions have been planned for Friday and Saturday. And it's not going to be a low-key affair.
Nikhil (26) is marrying Rutuja (22), daughter of Purushottam and Shubhangi Pathak, and Orange City Nagpur is all decked up for the occasion.
Over one lakh guests are expected to attend the wedding, including the country's who's who, starting from the President, the Prime Minister, top politicians, Central ministers, chief ministers, ministers, parliamentarians and legislators. Besides politicians, Bollywood bigwigs and businessmen, not to mention diplomats and foreign guests, comprise the list of invitees for the mega-wedding which is billed as one of the most expensive in recent years.
The functions kick off Wednesday evening with the 'Seemanti Pujan', which is considered an occasion to introduce the two families and all their relations, according to a family source from the groom's side.
Thursday will be the day of the main marriage nuptials. The ceremony will be witnessed by around 2,500 family members, friends and invitees.
The marriage ceremony will also be held at the prestigious Rajwada Palace near Gandhi Sagar Lake.
