First gang-raped, then set on fire. That was how a 24-year-old in Mumbai, a mother of two young children, was killed.
One of the four men who attacked her on Monday evening was related to her, the other three were her neighbours. She died in hospital on Tuesday. ''In her dying declaration, she stated she had been raped and burnt by these men,'' states Sanjay Baviskar, Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The police say the relative who attacked her was possibly in love with her and felt rejected when she married somebody else. Investigating officers say the crime seems pre-planned. The four men went to her house when they knew she'd be alone. They took kerosene with them to set her on fire.
