The sprawling garden at Presidential retreat in Hyderabad will be open to public for a week beginning on January 6.
The garden at the Rashtrapati Nilayam will be open for public viewing for seven days to January 12 from 10 am to 5 pm a Rashtrapati Bhavan press release said in New Delhi on Friday.
Rashtrapati Nilayam is a presidential retreat where the country's President stays for at least once a year and conducts official business.
The retreat's premises comprises landscaped garden, seasonal flowering plants and display of potted plants around the main building, natural cascading water falls and seven different types of nutrition gardens of Mango, Sapota, Pomegranate, Guava, Amla, Coconut and Cheeku.
A herbal garden in the premises of Rashtrapati Nilayam has 116 species of medicinal and aromatic plants like Sarpgandha, Kalabandha, Citronella, Lemon grass, Khus, Geranium, Coriander, Sandalwood, Tuber rose, Jasmine, Kalmegh, Tulsi, etc, the release said.
The garden is spread over about 7,000 square metres.
Several measures have been taken for conservation of rain water in Rashtrapati Nilayam to improve ground water sustainability, it added.
