New Delhi:
The wife of Lieutenant General AK Nanda, who has been accused of sexual misconduct, has issued a strong statement in support of her husband.
Neerja Nanda rubbishes accusations that her husband molested the wife of a junior officer on a trip to Israel last month. "I had accompanied him for the trip in question and was with him right through...I vouch no such incident happened...I further vouch that all the rumours which are being circulated are fictitious," Mrs Nanda said.
Nanda's wife of 35 years also vouched "100 per cent for the character of my husband." She was confident that the "truth will prevail" after the Army's inquiry.
The Army is investigating the allegations made by the wife of General Nanda's technical officer that she was molested by him on an official trip to Israel last month. The families of the officers had accompanied them on that trip.
General Nanda is the Engineer-in-Chief of the Indian Army and also a key advisor to the Army Chief, General VK Singh.
