New Delhi: The Bijnor Police today arrested the main accused in the death of a teenaged girl who was burnt alive by him, along with four others, on Friday.
The police said the other four will be arrested soon.
Kiran was doused with kerosene and set on fire on her way back home from the local market.
She had been accused by a friend's family of helping their daughter elope.
Kiran was taken to a nearby hospital which shifted her to the Bijnor district hospital. She succumbed to her injuries on Friday night.
The police has registered a First Information Report or FIR against the five accused - Bheem Singh, Pintu, Ajay, Babloo and Kailash.
Kiran, in her dying declaration before an additional district magistrate, had named the five assailants.
A few days ago, a girl was gang-raped and burnt alive in a village in Etawah, the home town of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. She succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
