A minor girl in Jaipur has alleged that her parents sold her to a 40-years-old man for Rs 3 lakh, police sources said on Saturday.
Police sources said, "An FIR in this regard has been lodged in Murlipura police station yesterday after the girl along with his uncle, who lived in Alwar district, complained to SP Alwar and case was transferred to Jaipur-South."
The girl claimed that she managed to escape from Macheda area, where she was staying with the man for few days, and reached to his uncle in Alwar who took her to police, the sources added.
"Earlier, on July 21 last, parents of the girl had registered a complaint stating that their daughter, who was married is missing from their home. The girl was later found from a nearby place, where the family used to live," SHO Murlipura K Khan said.
"Further investigations into the matter are on and we are trying to locate the girl, since she is not here with her parents," he said.
