Panaji: Goa legislative assembly's monsoon session will start tomorrow at Porvorim near Panaji. It would be 'a paperless session', a first in the history of legislatures in India, with the facility of online submission of various documents.
The session is scheduled to end on August 21, with 18 working days.
Speaker Rajendra Arlekar had announced that the session would be "95 per cent" paperless, with most of the business including question and answers to be uploaded online.
For the first time, the questions were accepted online, which saved the legislators the inconvenience of visiting Porvorim to submit them.
The government will be tabling Panchayati Raj Amendment Bill and amendment to the municipal act, sources said, adding that there was also a possibility that Goa Police Bill, pending for a long time, would be tabled.
Besides, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will table the much-awaited new mining policy, and announce financial package to give relief to those who have become indebted due to closure of the mining activity in the state.
