Panaji: Exuding confidence, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form a government in the state. He said BJP has the support of three Independents and also Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP).
Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis reiterated that his party will take the three independents and MGP along to form the next government in Goa.
The ruling BJP is seeking a third straight term in power in the coastal state. Party leaders will be meeting the Goa Governor to stake claim for the government formation.
Along with Goa, counting of votes were held for four other states - Punjab, UP, Manipur and Uttarakhand.
