Goa police on Tehelka case: highlights

Panaji: Goa DIG OP Mishra addressed the media on the developments in the Tehelka case today. Here are the highlights:

• Tarun Tejpal failed to appear till 3 PM
• A fax was received at 12 seeking extension for appearance
• Copy was served by one of the advocates here
• Request for appearance was taken into account, but request for extension was not accepted
  
• When the summon was issued, the journey time was also taken into account. That is why time till 3 pm was given
• Investigation is proceeding as per legal protocol. 
• Will proceed without delay with due process of law
• Have no doubt that the next logical step is arrest
