Panaji: Crime Branch has issued summons to the wife of former Goa tourism minister Fransisco Pacheco, who is on the run after being probed for the death of his close friend Nadia Torrado.
"Viola has been summoned to the Crime Branch tomorrow at 10.30 am," a source close to Pacheco's family said.
Police raided Pacheco's house at Betalbhatim, 40 km away from Panaji, and confiscated half a dozen computers. The summons were served to Viola soon after the raid.
Police are investigating the death of 28-year-old Torrado, who died allegedly after consuming poison on May 15.
The Crime Branch has accused Pacheco of being involved in the crime. The minister's close friend and Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Lyndon Monteiro, has been made co-accused in this case.
Pacheco and Monteiro are on the run since June 6, when they were called for questioning by the Crime Branch. Sessions court has already rejected their anticipatory bail petition.
Police have said that both would be arrested once they appear before investigating authorities as their custodial interrogation is required to solve the mystery behind Nadia's death.
