New Delhi:
After a series of incidents in which Tamil Nadu fishermen crossed over into Sri Lankan waters recently, the government has set a four-member committee under a senior naval officer to suggest ways to visibly demarcate the maritime boundary with Sri Lanka.
Vice Admiral SR Rao, the Navy's chief Hydrographer heads the panel which comprises maritime adviser of Tamil Nadu and DG, Light Houses among others.
The committee will evolve simple methods like a line of buoys or a will give a simple device which will tell the fishermen their exact location on high seas so that they don't stray into Sri Lankan waters.
The panel has been given six months' time to come up with practical solutions.
